Goldman is an economist, music critic, and author, best known for his series of online essays in the Asia Times under the pseudonym Spengler and his book How Civilizations Die (and Why Islam Is Dying Too). He was formerly head of credit research at Bank of America. Goldman is on the board of Asia Times Holdings.
